2025 Compass Badminton Challenge

Don’t miss your chance to play in one of the most exciting, fun, and inclusive badminton tournaments this spring!

Presented by Shuttle Swingers Badminton, the 2025 Spring Compass is a doubles tournament that will feature both Women's Doubles and Open Doubles categories. The tournament follows the unique Compass competition format, which guarantees at least 4 matches per pair, regardless of results. There will be 8 winners and 8 runners-up in both the Open and Women's categories, ensuring everyone has a chance to compete and enjoy the day.

It's open to players from Grade A to E. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or stepping onto the court for your first comp, this tournament is for you. Grade E players can be social players without any prior competition experience, making it an easy and friendly way to dip your toes into tournament play. We encourage everyone to give this badminton challenge a go!

🧭 How the Compass Format Works:

• All pairs begin in the East bracket (main draw of 32).

• Lose a match? Move into a new bracket (West, North, South, etc.).

• Each match is played to 30 points (no setting).

• Minimum of 4 matches per pair. Finalists will play a 5th.

• The East bracket champion is the overall winner — undefeated.

• Categories:

  • Open Doubles: Open to all participants.

  • Women's Doubles: Open to participants identifying as women.

• Guidelines:

  • Participants identifying as men can participate in the Open Doubles category.

  • Participants identifying as women can choose to join either the Women's Doubles or Open Doubles category.

  • Non-binary participants are welcome to join the category that best aligns with their gender identity.

• Cost: $30 (members) | $35 (non-members)

• Date: Saturday 30th August 2025, 9 AM – 2 PM

• Venue: Alpha Auburn

• Entries Close: 15 August 2025

• Late Entries: Accepted until 28 August (if spots remain) + $5 late fee
